Magnetic North is the hip hop duo known for moving your body as well as your synapses. Respected nation-wide for their soul scorching lyrics and innovative melodies, Direct & Theresa Vu have turned heads from rap superstar Nelly to renowned civil rights activist Yuri Kochiyama.

First meeting during their undergrad years at UC Berkeley, Derek aka 'Direct' and Theresa aka 'T-Minus' were already known in the AA hip hop community for their lyrics and rhymes. Finally getting a chance to work together, the two began creating songs, Derek creating all the beats himself. After 3 years in the making they released their first album in March of 2006.

In the summer of 2006 Magnetic North's manager called on Wong Fu Productions to produce a music video for MN's first single "Drift Away". After hearing it just once, Wong Fu knew it was gonna be a great project. Production was a swift 2 1/2 days, shot all around the Bay Area, from San Francisco, Berkeley, to Fremont.

Since the video's release in October 2006, the video has been one of Wong Fu's most successful and meaningful. The video won the Audience Award at the 2007 New York International Asian American Film Festival.

Magnetic North moved out from California in early 2007 and currently resides in New York City.
