We are beginning the search for actors in our next movie “Sung”!

Below are the character descriptions for the 3 main leads. Please read thoroughly.

SUNG - early-mid 20s, Korean American male. Kpop idol charm, but with an American sensibility. He knows how to turn on the big stage presence, but he’s more modest in his personal life. Sung lost confidence in recent years after a long journey in the idol trainee programs and is now bitter about his experience and has low self-esteem in his post-trainee life. He’s still extremely talented and hasn’t lost a beat, but just uncertain what he has left to offer to the world.

Must be able to sing and dance. Must be able to speak conversational Korean.

CLAUDIA - 20s, Asian female (non Korean). Came to America when she was very young. From a blue-collar family. Very independent as she had to grow up quickly with a single mom and younger brother she helped raise. Confident in her personal life, but shy with the spotlight on her. She’s never been allowed to dream big so she feels stuck without options for her future. “This is it.” She may have passion for music, but has never even thought of pursuing it since it’s an impossibility in her mind. 

Must able to speak 2nd language (fluent preferred)

KASON - 20s, Korean American male. Sung’s childhood friend who was by his side until Sung moved to Korea in high school. Hustler mentality, always thinking about ways to make some extra money. Also from a blue-collar family. He’s independent and doesn’t take life too seriously. Lovable, life of the party, especially if he’s on aux since he’s an aspiring music producer.

Must be able to speak Korean (conversational)

SUMI - 20s, Asian American female. Another childhood friend of Sung’s who also trained in Korea. Unlike Sung, she has already debuted and is working in the industry. The two are childhood sweethearts, but Sumi’s pressure to be a performer is her main priority. She is extremely talented and perfect for her role, but also self aware and intelligent enough to know how to work in the idol-system.

Must be able to speak Korean (conversational).
